During Balance Awareness Week (BAW) employees at Lifemark Sport Medicine Olympic Oval in Richmond, BC, participated in a balance challenge orchestrated by Abeed Hirji, Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapist and BC Balance & Dizziness professional member.
The purpose of this challenge was to help raise awareness for dizziness and balance disorders which are often misunderstood, but very much real. It is hoped that, with increased awareness, patients can be rapidly diagnosed and effectively managed and treated for this potentially life-altering condition.
Congratulations to Jason Birring (on right in photo), Physiotherapist, for winning the balance challenge. Out of the 14 employees who participated, Jason managed to rise above the occasion to take home the 1st place prize for his efforts: a $50 Starbucks gift card.
Until next year... keep practicing your balance and don't forget to do the flamingo!
