Once the acute phase of dizziness has passed, it is very important to keep up with normal activities and to fight the impulse to avoid doing anything that might provoke or worsen dizziness. Activities that stimulate the balance system, such as tai chi, are particularly recommended by specialists. Vestibular rehabilitation exercises can also help many balance and dizziness problems. Beyond activities geared for an individual, there are many opportunities to improve one's balance and general well-being with others in a group. Osteofit is BC Women’s Hospital certified exercise, education and falls prevention program for men and women with osteoporosis, low bone density or who are at risk of fractures and falls because of balance issues. Osteofit aims to provide safe and gentle exercises for individuals with minimal previous exercise experience.
